Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. (Deut. 34:9)
Dear Friends and Partners,
It is with joy that I announce the appointment of Florina “Di” Riel-Fernandez as National Director-Designate of IVCF Philippines effective 1 July 2020. She will have a six-month transition period with incumbent National Director Christy Jutare, from July to December 2020.
The appointment of Di came after a thorough process of much prayer and deliberation, starting with the formation of a Search Committee in the 3rd quarter of last year and culminating in the unanimous decision of the Board to accept the recommendation of the Search Committee during its regular meeting last 2 March 2020.
Di has been with IVCF Philippines for close to 20 years, starting as an ISCF field staff in September 2000. She has been Field Director since July 2014, leading the field ministry and providing oversight and pastoral care to 9 regional directors. She is a Bachelor of Science in Statistics graduate from the University of the Philippines and is currently pursuing her MBA in Biblical Leadership and Christian Management from the Asian Theological Seminary.
We would like to express our deep appreciation to Christy Jutare who has led IVCF Philippines since 1 August 2014. Over the past six years, Christy has effectively utilized her IFES experience, academic and professional background in addressing the critical issues that IVCF faced when she came in: financial sustainability, organizational leadership and culture, corporate governance and greater collaboration with partners. Christy will continue to help IVCF after her term but will already be based in Iloilo City to take care of her mother.
We praise the Lord for these two ladies whom the Lord has appointed to lead the movement during these challenging times. Let us cover them with our prayers and provide them the needed support as they undergo the transition and as Di assumes full responsibility as National Director effective 1 January 2021. All glory and praise to Him, whose we are and whom we serve.
