Hopes and vision for IVCF:

I pray for an IVCF that is even more grounded in the WORD of GOD and responsive to the various needs of society. I hope for creative and enriching IVCF ministries that are a result of listening to God and of engaging with the communities.

What you want to contribute to IVCF Philippines, if elected:

I will share with IVCF my expertise in education and mentorship grounded in my experience as a teacher and facilitator of the youth, the professionals, and the ASEAN and Japanese communities. I will engage IVCF in more creative ways of doing ministry that is not just Biblical but also fun and relevant.

Leonora Aquino-Gonzales

Hopes and vision for IVCF:

My vision for IVCF is to involve more young leaders from around the country to be involved in decision making bodies of IVCF.  My hope is that more IVCF alumni will be equipped and encouraged to be in key political leadership positions in the country, from the barangay level to national leadership posts.  Our discipleship and leadership camps should always have distinct tracts for this purpose.

What you want to contribute to IVCF Philippines, if elected:

I will continue to help with resource mobilization so IVCF will be sustained. I also have been discussing the Graduates Program with our Graduates Ministry Director, Christy Jutare. We can try to explore new partnerships with the private sector and international development agencies.

Hopes and vision for IVCF:

With the onset of the pandemic, the educational system in the Philippines underwent a major shift, just like the rest of the world. With this scenario, I hope that IVCF will be able to meaningfully respond to the new challenges of this new normal in education. My vision is that IVCF Philippines will be able to strategically position itself so that it will remain a relevant part of the Church in the 21st century and as a movement among graduates and students.

What you want to contribute to IVCF Philippines, if elected:

I hope to provide a context on how student ministry may be done in the new normal, during, and post-pandemic era.

I hope that my experiences as a graduate team member and a graduate based in Mindanao will contribute to the understanding of how IVCF can enhance the ministry in the regions.

Past & Present Involvement with IVCF:          

  • 1979-1982: member of Tanglaw Christian Fellowship (PNU); part of the Exec Com in my 4th year, college (SY 1981-1982)
  • 1984-1987: Grad Team member, IVCF Batangas City
  • 1987- 1988: IVCF College Staff, based in MMla
  • 1988-1990: IVCF Regional Staff for Northern Mindanao, based in Cagayan de Oro City
  • 1994 – 1997: helped pioneer an ISCF chapter in Corpus Christi School, which became locally known as  YD (Young Disciples Club)
  • 1997 -2002: Grad Team member, Cagayan de Oro City
  • 1994 – 2019: Faculty moderator, Young Disciples Club (ISCF chapter)
  • 2017- 2018: member of the steering committee of the IFES-East Asia- sponsored Asian Christian Teachers Conference (ACTC)
  • 2018: present – volunteer for Teacher Christian Fellowship (TCF-IVCF Philippines)
  • 2020: present – member of the committee that facilitates the ACT Prayer Online Gathering (the alternative to the ACTC)

Hopes and vision for IVCF

IVCF will remain a dynamic and relevant student ministry amidst these changing and perilous times.

Students and graduates will continue to heed the call to follow Christ and be His active witnesses in their areas of influence in spite of the difficulties of this pandemic.

What do you want to contribute to IVCF Philippines, if elected:

  • Contribute to policy-making from a professional viewpoint
  • Provide information on developments related to the pandemic and how these would affect policies and programs
  • Help encourage graduates to stay connected with IVCF and to give support regularly

Hopes and vision for IVCF:

To be more vibrant and intentional in penetrating not only the schools but all sectors of society for Christ.  We should elevate and intensify our ideals:  Worship, Fellowship, Nurture, and Mission.  Increase our linkages and participation in building God’s Kingdom in the workplace, churches, communities, academe, and government.  Our classic model in this kind of strategy is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ.  He made himself available to all the people from different walks of life.  We need to produce “Great Commission” IVCF members.

What you want to contribute to IVCF Philippines, if elected:

1. If given the opportunity to serve again for another term in the BOT, I will continue to support and push for the release of the succeeding tranches in the staff salary standardization.

I will help in raising regular salary for the staff specially during these trying times.  Our priority is the welfare of our staff workers all over the Philippines well taken care of.  Also will find ways and means in the modernization of IVCF offices & IVCF Homes around the country.

2.  In these challenging time, I will continue to help and support our ND and staff in providing leadership training for the students whether online meetings or any digital platform.  I will collaborate with IVCF BOT to  sponsor & conduct seminars and conferences on Discipleship and Leadership that will connect small, medium, and large churches to the ministry of IVCF Philippines.

3.  I will help and support programs in order to sustain and build healthy relationship with fellow IVCF graduates/alumni, and ministry partners.
