Jonah in His Hands
The Most Beautiful Thing…
Dear Partners,
Hello partners! How are you? The Lord is indeed amazing and wondrous in His works! It was at the height of excitement and expectations of what’s going to happen when I got back to Northern Mindanao, in Cagayan de Oro specifically from the summer camps. Last June, God made clear the treasures He has stored in my heart– the transformed lives of the students and testimonies of the graduates which became my inspiration in doing my work as “ate”, a partner to the graduates and supporters in the ministry. I am bleing blessed in the business of “saint-making.”
As I journey with the students, I was even challenged to minister to more students and teach them how to live and love like Christ. Now, I am handling 4 small groups of new students from 2 different campuses here in CDO. It’s a “beautiful” feeling to be “someone” who listens to their stories, eats with them, cries with them, learns with them and most especially rejoices with them as they confess that Jesus is good in their lives.
It’s always been my prayer that my passion in serving Him will grow stronger even more. The Lord is unlimitedly showing me His grace; the grace that brings my mind and soul His goodness and beauty, His unfailing love, and His all inclusive provision. My life here in Northern Mindanao challenges me to go beyond my borders in studying His Word, to live everyday in faith, to accept the opportunities to disciple students. I was blessed and inspired when I visited Malaybalay, in their new IV home. It’s beautiful to hear their expression of thanks to God for answering their prayer. Indeed God made all things beautiful in His time.
Of course, like a precious gem that undergoes a rigid process to be a “gem” ; I, too, experienced trials in my spiritual and even in my personal life. Last July, my lola was in the hospital because of severe cough. How I longed to go home and be with her. But I wasn’t able to go home because of many tasks I needed to attend. The Lord assured me that He will take care of my lola and my family. Indeed, the most beautiful thing is to be in His will and being assured of His Love.
I am happy and blessed for the family, church and supportive friends He has given me. Now, we are preparing for our sem-break camp. We are blessed by God with students who seek God and are willing to know Him more.
Thank you for remembering me in your prayers. The Lord continue to bless you beyond measure.
In Christ,
Jonahliza
