Dear IVCF Family,

Greetings in Christ our Lord!

Acts 2:42They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. … 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Acts 4:42-47 is the biblical basis for our IVCF activities and programs. We always have study of God’s Word, fellowship, prayer and praise, and outreach. This regular Prayer Bulletin has been a good tool for regional staff and campus chapters during their prayer meetings. Increasingly, individual graduates and alumni groups, as well as partner churches are using this bulletin as prayer guides during their prayer time. May more people be devoted to pray for IVCF regularly.

Praise God for a blessed and fruitful Balikatan Conference in Boston, USA last June 2-4, 2010. Our IVCF Family in Northern America commits to partner with us continuously.

Pray for our IVCF Annual Corporation Meeting this coming August 21, 2010 at Faith Baptist Church, West Ave., Quezon City. May the God bless us with God-glorifying program and reports, good attendance, and regional participations, BOT elections, and commitments for the continuation of our ministries.

Blessed be the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in IVCF Philippines.

In Christ,

The staff team as they divide their time for ministry and administration concerns. Pray, too, that they will not forsake their Sabbath so they can work more effectively and efficiently.

The planning of the upcoming leadership-discipleship training camp to be headed by Paul Magbanua. Pray for students to be available for the camp and for the counselors to respond positively to the invitations for them. Pray that as early as now there would be clear schedules for semestral breaks so that the dates for the camp will fit with the break.

More counselors and GT members to really get involved in the ministry. We have not started one ISCF chapter yet. We are still processing the requirements and we really need an extra hand.

The pioneering chapters of ISCF in Negros and Iloilo. We believe that God has given us opportunities to share His Gospel but we need people who will work with us. We attend to all these needs on our own.

For our families’ health, protection and provision. May God keep them in the hollow of His hands.

Pioneering Movements

Cambodia

We do thank to God for Evangelistic Student Camp in last May. God had blessed this camp so wonderfully. There were 16 participants who would like to join the small group as their response to God’s word, students’ testimonies and all the camp programs. May God help the student leaders to follow up them by leading and discipling them in small groups.

Please pray that God will show us his will and all student leaders could have one heart and voice to decide this.

Mongolia – FCS

We praise that we had the English camp with Singapore FES team very well from June 15 to 27. By this camp we shared the Gospel with many new students, among them some accepted Jesus as their Savior, and decided to continue to join our student movement. We thank God for giving the opportunity to proclaim the Gospel to students in Mongolia.

During July 20 to 26, we thank God that we could go to countryside to proclaim the Gospel with Korean IVF, and came back safely. During this outreach, we could understand how important to share the Good News, and have the heart that God really loves all people in Mongolia. So, we would like to thank for what God has done for us.

Thank God for providing us with our financial needs on July. We haven’t raised supports enough, so we couldn’t get 100% for last 8 months. We really thank God for His provision.

Now all staffs are about to take a break for two weeks. Pray for good rests, and getting strengths in every aspect such as spirituality, health, and emotions. So they could serve others with strength and power later on.

Pray for LTC and MTC held in the end of this August. By these trainings, our students could grow in spirit and wisdom. And in this training all staffs who are to give lectures could be prepared well.

Pray for staff’s financial supports. Raising supports is still our burdens even though we have done the best to raise supports. Please pray for more supporters who will have partnership with us. And also for our staffs to pray for his provision.

East Asia Regional Team

Praise:

Praise God that two member movements appointed their general secretaries recently; KGK Japan appointed Mr. Yamazaki Ryuichi, who has served as acting GS from April 2009 to March 2010. FES Hong Kong also appointed Ms Maureen Tang, who has served as associate GS for the last few years since the former GS stepped down, will commence her role as GS from July 2010. Please pray for Mr. Yamazaki and Ms Tang for the Lord to bless their leadership as they take daunting task to serve respective movements.

Mr. Shin (IFES Genereal Secretary) is grateful to God that he could visit Hong Kong in order to prepare EAGC 2010 with host committee members of Hong Kong GCS and Macao GCF in May. As EAGC is coming near, the host committee gets busy to prepare the conference with many items and issues. It is wonderful that 180 graduates from many countries already registered, which is unusual comparing to previous EAGG where graduates used to register at the last moment due to their uncertain vacation plan. We expect more graduates will register from Hong Kong and Macao.

Mr. Shin visited FCS Mongolia during mid-May where he met board members and staff team in order to discuss on succession plan of GS. Mr Shai, the first local general secretary, decided to step down at the end of June 2010 because he has strongly felt God’s call to go to marketplace, which is new concept but very important to Mongolian Christians. The national board accepted his resignation and appointed Mr Munkuu as acting GS for one year hoping to appoint GS by June 2011. Shin could take part in discussing how to build local leadership among student leaders, graduates and staff in the context where Christianity has short history and does not have good role models.

Please pray for:

Please pray for Shin as he plans to attend an annual SLT (Senior Leadership Team of IFES) meeting and SLT/IEC (International Executive Committee) joint meeting during June 3-10 in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, UK. SLT members will spend time to have fellowship with one another and to discuss on ministry focusing on follow up of Living Stones implementation plan. Pray for Shin’s safe journey and time of mutual encouragement during the meeting.

Pray for Shin when he visits Taiwan to attend 11th Youth Mission Conference of CEF during July 11-17. Sixteen hundred students are expected to attend with the theme “A Kingdom without Borders, a Life without Limits.” Shin will share on his personal life journey during a plenary session and lead workshops on the importance of student ministry.

Do continue to pray for EAGC as it is held in less than two months. Remember host committee members and volunteers for their preparation with their limited time. Pray for participants from overseas for their safe journey to Hong Kong, good weather during the conference, and their involvement and challenge during the conference. Pray also for plenary and workshop speakers to interact with participants.

The region is recruiting a new PA to Shin because Inhwan Oh is expected to return to Korea in mid-August in order to finish his national service. Please pray that God provide a new PA who can work with servant heart at least one year based in Malaysia.

Dear IVCF Prayer Partners,

“Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing. You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?”

That is Matthew 7:7-11 as translated by Eugene Peterson in The Message Bible. Please use this IVCF Prayer Bulletin again as your guide in asking God for the needs of our ministries. It was God who conceived IVCF in love, and it is He who will give us answers to our prayer requests. What great assurance that our Father in Heaven is ready to respond to the prayers of His children.

God is in charge! He can do anything He wants. He is ablaze in beauty.

in Christ,

“If you knew the generosity of God and who I am,
you would be asking me for a drink,
and I would give you fresh, living water.”
– Jesus Christ from John 4:10

He is the Son of God who willingly gave His life for us. If we truly believe these truths, then we should be more confident to pray to God through Jesus Christ. As an exercise of faith, let me invite you now to pray for IVCF Philippines. Intercede for us again. Join us in praying for this month’s ministry concerns. Jesus is waiting to hear our requests and He is ready to answer our prayers, as He is always ready to give us fresh, living water.

International fellowship of evangelical students in Europe

Europe has a long history of sending missionaries to all nations, but is increasingly recognised as an important and needy mission field in its own right. Join us in praising God for the IFES InterAction teams who support IFES movements throughout Europe.

InterAction workers face interesting challenges. Some are sent to countries where they do not know the language. Ana, in Siena, Italy, has not let that stop her. She writes about her Italian classes, ‘I can see how it is important to be in that place and not only to be learning a language to talk with the students, but also to be given the amazing opportunity by God to speak about the gospel.

Sara in Paris, France reports that she and two others have faced the snow, hail, wind and rain to set up a bookstall outside the university. Their mission is to talk with students passing by who are either deeply engrossed in their iPods or rushing to a class. Facing the cold weather and cold shoulders isn’t easy but it’s worth doing, especially when they meet students like D, who now comes to nearly every Bible study that the GBU (the IFES movement in France) runs.

Other Interaction workers describe similar joys in the face of trials. Claudia in Berlin, Germany is sometimes disappointed that more people don’t come to events, but then receives emails such as the following: ‘I am so happy now, because I am sure that God does everything for the best. I am so glad that I have a new family here.’ Somebody else wrote: ‘At the moment I am reading the book that you gave me I’d like to discuss it with you when I come back to Berlin!’

Please pray for InterAction workers across Europe, that God will encourage them, sustain them in their ministry and give them times of refreshment.

Give thanks with us for the students whose lives are being touched by the gospel as they meet with InterAction workers and attend events. Pray for student leaders as together with staff they seek to demonstrate a love that is contagious and draws others to the God who is the source of all love.

Dear IVCF Prayer Partners,

What an honor for IVCF Philippines to be prayed for by our IFES family worldwide. Immediately after sending our National Conference 2009 report, they made IVCF Philippines the prayer focus of the week. Checkout the IFES website (http://www.ifesworld.org/home/) under recent news. Our global brethren had praised God for our movement, as well as prayed that we continue to our ministries for the glory of God. This prayer partnership connects to our brothers and sisters from nations. It unites us in our dependence on God as we obey His holy calling.

This should challenge us more. May we, members of IVCF Philippines, continue to pray for our movement more. As we pray for our movement, God will reveal His will to us all. We increase our anticipation for how God would answer our prayers. So please use this month’s prayer bulletin, share it to others, distribute it to others. In doing so we affirm that it is God who will continue to work in and through us, and trust Him for guidance and provisions for all that we plan to do to reach out to our students and graduates for the fulfillment of Christ’s Great Commission.

in Christ,

Dear IVCF Praying Friends,

A Blessed Christmas Greeting to you. One way to start celebrating Christmas is through prayer and intercession. Not only to pray to God for our personal Christmas gifts and wishes, but more importantly to focus our attention on the reason for this season. The Lord Jesus Christ came to earth and paved way for us to be reconciled to God. Now we who are His children can intimately have personal conversations as we spend time in prayer. To be prayed for is a wonderful gift to IVCF. Once again, I invite you to add to your Christmas list, I mean prayer list, IVCF’s praises and concerns. I have recently emailed our IVCF constituents about the needs of our coming National Conference. Please include the following items in this new Prayer Bulletin.

Thank you for your prayer support.
Blessed be the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

in Christ,

Praise God for the recent Leadership Camp – Discipleship Camp (LCDC) 2009. Sixty nine lives were transformed with the Rabbis’ love and challenged to live that love into action. We thank God for our donors, friends and partners who not only prayed with us but also supported us financially. The camp ended with a little surplus. It was a grace-filled adventure with its new program. We had one whole day set for community involvement in the typhoon-ravaged Marikina and overwhelming-poverty in Payatas. This CI was in partnership with Compassion International and Payatas Gospel Community Church. In this camp, we faced last minute changes every day, but those had made God’s grace more evident to the camp exec, counselors and staff. Indeed, to Him be all glory and praise. (Ryan Gil Guillermo, LCDC 2009 Camp Director)

We also praise God for a grace and love filled 1st semester. The ‘penta’-months can be characterised with vibrant and teachable GTs, generous donors and vigorous staff team. We thank the Lord for Mutya Febre who had led the region with humility and wisdom for almost two years. We bless her with love, joy, peace and abundance as she continues to serve God in another ministry.

Please pray with us as we enter into another leadership transition. Pray for a downy alteration as we face the second semester with a very lean staff. Pray that these times would be a ‘kairos’ moment for our students, graduates, partners and volunteers to take part in our ministry here in the region.
