A Part of the History of Kalasag Christian Fellowship was remained a remarkable to each of the alumnis of Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP). The Kalasag celebrate its 40 years of existence participated by the graduates from 70’s up to present. In God’s word shared to us by Ptr. Jojo Manzano indeed an encouraging to graduates especially to the students for the coming years to come.

Kalasag Christian Fellowship Reunion 2010 was truly a testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness.

I never thought I’d see this day. I am simply awed that those who started Kalasag and representatives of batches who continued throughout decades were gathered in one room to worship God, reminisce, laugh together and encourage one another to continue the good work.

I commend the organizers who labored for more than a year I guess in preparation for this event and the Lord truly blessed them that things turned out well on that day. All seemed smooth from registration, program, catering to venue itself.

Program was packed with segments to thank God, look back at the past and at the same time be excited of what’s happening in KGCF and KCF today. My favorite part was when the current student officers creatively did their announcement on updates. They did it in a very entertaining ala news reporting way. Suddenly, I felt I returned to college days. Before the program ShowTime had their famous ‘Sample’, Kalasag would have talented and skillful members just to do about anything for the ministry.

I thank God that I didn’t miss this occasion and I hope and pray that this event will be a start to more in the future.

Aiming to reconnect and celebrate God’s faithfulness for the past 40 years, Kalasag Christian Fellowship – IVCF PUP held its Grand Alumni Homecoming, November 27, 2010.

For the graduates and staff workers present, it is a time for rekindling their good old days in the University especially in the fellowship. But for the students it is far more than a fellowship; it is a time of encouragement and empowerment expressed in the stories of our Kuya’s and Ate’s, Tatay’s and Nanay’s. Such stories inspired me to take heart and continue to persevere in the campus ministry.
Despite all the challenges that the fellowship faced for the past four decades, God’s magnificence and faithfulness that is like a picture formed pixel by pixel in the lives of the members is evident in His work in Kalasag and IVCF as a whole.
I praise God for the passion he had instilled to the Kalasag Alumni. Indeed we are here because they have been faithful.
This get-together is a timely reminder that indeed “He who began a good work… will carry it on to completion…” Currently, as the student ministry faces several issues in the university, I am all the more confident that whatever comes our way, as long as we are rooted in God’s Word, He himself will bring this work to completion.
