Film Showing “Signos” at IV Home Iriga

On Nov 25, students from three campuses watched “Signos (Fatal Signs)” , a documentary film produced by GMA News and Public Affairs highlighting the most pressing environmental issue today – climate change.  Signos made the students have a comprehensive look at the impact of climate change in the Philippines – its causes, effects, and the measures that must be taken to prevent its disastrous consequences.  The film served as a prelude to the tree planting activity.

Hooray on Bonifacio DAY! 200 trees, 20 students, 1 mountain

Twenty students from three IVCF Rinconada campuses and one from Ateneo Naga gladly muddied their hands and feet as they hiked Mt. Asog and planted 200 trees.  DENR Iriga provided us 100 seedlings for this event.  This is the largest number of planted trees in this yearly event conducted every 30th of November for three consecutive years now. This significant activity not only serves the local government in its project of greening Mt.  Asog, it also gave the students the sense of responsibility as Earth caretakers.
